New Year… New Diet… New Weight Loss Torture!

Weight Loss Workout?

Well, that’s it. Christmas is done and dusted, the relatives finally headed back home and you have probably eaten most of the chocolates and goodies that have been overflowing from all of your cupboards and fridge, because some where along the line you truly believed that you were feeding 500 over the Christmas period, rather than just the few extra family members!

Now you are probably thinking about returning to work after the festivities and like me, are probably having to breathe in just that little bit more in order to do up that top button on the trousers you were wearing just a few weeks ago, the ones that must have shrunk a little in that blasted washing machine…. Really? Now do you actually believe that?

Suffering from weight loss anxiety?

Like millions of other people, now you’ll be suffering the post Christmas guilt from the sheer volume of food consumed, the chocolates that you really didn’t need and the fact that the scales are telling you that the 2 & 1/2lbs weight loss you achieved in early December (that you were so proud of and dropped it into just about every conversation with your friends and co-workers), has well and truly gone back on with a little extra to boot. Oh the joy of Christmas! And what’s worse, we do it to ourselves every year! Why do we go through the torture of constantly trying to lose weight!?

So with all that in mind, we all turn to the hundreds of weight loss, diet and detox plans out there in the big wide world. Hmm…which weight loss program or diet will it be this year? Perhaps it’s not ‘which’ we should be asking ourselves but ‘how long will we manage the weight loss diet this time’? I’m sure a lot of you reading this must have been through this too. I’m a stereotypical text book dieter and weight loss fanatic. Sudden-enthusiasm, race-to-the-gym-every-evening, 50-sit-ups-before-bed kinda person. Swiftly followed a few weeks later by ‘can’t make it to the gym tonight, I’m working late / can’t get a babysitter/ washing my hair?!?’ Then this moves on to ‘can’t be bothered to cook tonight’ and the secret stashes of emergency chocolate secreted in the top drawer or bag. It’s a slippery slope from there to weight loss and diet doom!!

But the weight loss and diet has just gotta be done…

But despite all of this, I am joining the millions who will be starting a new weight loss program diet this week, I will be starting the gym on Monday (no real reason why I couldn’t have started today, but Monday sounds good!), and I am going to stick to it this time!!! Lettuce leaves and carrot sticks, here I come (or Cabbage Soup, Egg & Grapefruit, Raw vegetables,Protein Only, or Supplement Shakes). On second thoughts…I’ll stick with the lettuce leaves thank you very much!!!

  3. Ahaa, its nice discussion regarding this piece of writing here at
this web site, I have read all that, so now me also commenting here.

  4. One of the biggest reasons that people failed to maintain the weight they lost is due to temptation of ‘comfort’ food that
make people feel good. Louis research on genetically engineered mice that were obese were fed a low fat diet.
